SCREW EXTRACTOR: SO YOU CAN EXTRACT THE BROKEN SCREW!

Screw extractor can be used to extract the broken screw. First we will drill a after we use the professionally punch to mark a center on the screw. Then the screw extractor is screwed counterclockwise (anticlockwise) in the drilled hole. The holding tools can be an adjustable wrench or a tool holder without ratchet.

HARDNESS ROCKWELL

Rockwell is an internationally accepted measure of the hardness of technical materials. The abbreviation consists of HR (Hardness Rockwell, Rockwell hardness) as marking the procedure followed by another letter that indicates the scale and thus the test forces and bodies. According to DIN EN ISO 6508-1 are eleven scales with different test loads and bodies standardized. These scales bear the letters AH, K, N and T. The standardized representation consists of the hardness value, the test methods and the scale, such as 65 HRC.

YOU CAN USE HOLE SAWS TO SAW HOLES

You can produce the best holes in low thickness work pieces through a bi-metal hole-saw. It can be easily cutting on the materials such as wood, plastic, plasterboard and metal (up to the max 3mm). However, there is a prerequisite that the work pieces are no thicker than the useful height of the hole-saw.

This tool include an abor, a guide drill and a hole-saw with the corresponding diameter. The hole-saw has a body made of tool steel and a welded cutting ring made of HSS steel. Because two different materials are used to make the hole-saw, one speaks in this context of a bi consequently metal hole-saw.

The actual cutting is done by the HSS saw-teeth. They are stagger, i.e. the teeth are bent to the right and left, then it means good “free cut”. In addition, the teeth are arranged variably. The number of teeth in one inch are around 4-6. The distance from the tooth tip to tooth tip is about 6.35mm and 4.2mm.This so-called variable tooth is in TPI (teeth per inch) or TPI (Teeth per inch) indicated. Here is an example: Vario teeth is 4/6 TPI.

The hole-saw is driven by a drilling machine or a cordless screwdriver with sufficient torque.

The operation is very simple: the hole-saw is screwed onto the receptacle body and the drive pins are plugged into the top of the hole-saw. If it looks like not suitable, you can turn back the hole-saw in order to be holded by drive pins. Then the saw is clamed in the drill. Important: the drill body must be marked and then grained. Then you can fix the precise drill guide and let slowly immerse the hole-saw into the material. Pay particular attention during the passage of the hole-saw. If the circular cutout can be difficult to remove from the hole saw, then take advantage of the two clamping holes and remove the neck with a screwdriver, for example by the clamping holes from behind against the work-piece.

GSR hole-saws are available in HSS and HSSE execution. Here HSSE materials mainly for V2A and V4A sheets are used (up to max. 2mm).

THE PROCESS FOR SCREW SINK INTO METAL

In order to sink screws, people must make a reduction by drilling. For counter sunk screws, people need a conical reduction, for hexagon socket screws, they need a flat reduction. But it will depend on the screw type whether it is countersink or flatsink.

The counter sink tool

Countersink usually have three axially and radially relief-cutting with a countersink angle of 90 degrees or 120 degrees and they are made by HSS material. The countersinks with 60 degrees can also be used for deburring.

Counterbores for sinking until a diameter of 5 mm have two main cutting edges and counterbores or sinking diameters larger than 5 mm up to 20 mm have three or more main cutting edges. They are right-hand cutting and have a fixed pilot pin for guiding in the through hole or in the thread core hole.

The lowering

The procedure for lowering is very simple: First should measure the screw head which will be sinked.

This is common of countersinking diameter.

After the through-hole is made, the countersink is used. First measure the hexagon socket screw for the countersink depth.

When the lowering depth is still to be considered whether washer should be used. Then add this measure to the height of screw head. In addition, and allowance for the countersinking according to DIN 974/1: From 1,4 to 6mm is 0,4mm, 6 to 20mm is 0,6mm. In this way people can decide the correct countersinking depth.

Then the procedure of countersink is similar. First selecting the corresponding countersink according to the countersink angle of the countersunk screw (90 degrees) or the rivets (120 degrees) and the size of the screw head.

After drilling then use the countersink to make a corresponding reduction profile.

After these two operations have been completed, the next operation (for example threading) can be finished.

HOW TO AVOID A TOOL BREAKAGE WHILE PEOPLE USING MACHINE TAP TO CUTTING THREAD?

We always think about the thread cutting process, it takes us some critical process moments that can lead to sudden breakage of the machine tap. This can be prevent by using the special thread cutting chucks which on an adjustable torque limiter. For example, the quick-change chunk of GSR thread cutting machine has such an adjustment.
Once you have solved the clamping ring, you can increase or decrease the torque limiter with the pliers.
(See above pictures) When an overload function for example an uncontrolled crash, the slip clutch turns and the thread cutting process will stop.

IS A GOOD OR BAD THREAD PRODUCED?

It is the best way to determine the quality of a thread by using the plug gauge. The gauge have a good side and a bad side that is marked with a red ring. The good side will screwed into the previously prepared thread. This should be done smoothly. However, the bad side must be screwed not more than 2 turns, so it should handle a maximum of only briefly. The technical term for this is “Anschnäbeln”. Therefore, if the tests of maximum and minimum are respected and they are without pitch error, then the thread is fine. This test is very easy to handle and provides a reliable result, if a thread is good or bad.
